Early in my career, I learned which clients were ideal for me, and which were
not. Certain qualities in my clients help make our relationship successful,
specifically the client's ability to:
Communicate
Plan
Delegate
Convey mutual respect
Express gratitude
THAT COMPUTER LADY enjoys working with
professionals in all types of business and industry, but she does have some
expectations from her clients when she agrees to work with them. Her ideal
client is someone who:
is looking for a partner to help his/her business to grow
is gracious, appreciative, well-mannered, ethical, respectful, and
compassionate
pays on time for services provided
has a sense of humor
has a clear vision of the work that needs to be done, and can
communicate that vision clearly
understands the Virtual Assistant industry and
appreciates the value of the VA’s work
considers a VA his/her partner and equal
trusts that his/her VA will get the job done
is hardworking, skilled, and committed to his/her business success
is open to recommendations and positive change
is honest and direct
adds positive energy to the VA’s business
values hard work, integrity, and professional ethics
feels comfortable delegating tasks to a professional
informs the VA of changes in deadlines & assignments
reserves blocks of time (10-12 hours) each month
acknowledges a job well-done by referring the VA to colleagues & friends
recognizes a job well done, or when someone goes above and beyond the
call of duty
With time and experience, this list is undergoing constant change. By working
with a greater variety of clients, I will be continually adding to and refining
this basic list.
