Expectations

What Can You Expect From Your Virtual Assistant?

You should expect the following from your Virtual Assistant:

  • an initial consultation to discuss your expectations (and those of the VA)
  • work completed according to your agreement, in a timely manner, and delivered when promised
  • status updates during large projects or on a periodic (usually monthly) schedule
  • knowledge of the appropriate equipment and software to get the job completed
  • the integrity to advise if your request is out of her area of expertise, and possibly refer you to someone who can help you
  • a Service Agreement/Contract outlining expectations on both the Virtual Assistant and the Client side
  • a website demonstrating the VA’s internet skills and technical savyy
  • a willingness to share resources and proactively make you aware of products, methods, and sources that might contribute to your success
  • excellence (not perfection) in all activities and projects
  • an honest opinion and knowledgeable advise (suggestions and recommendations) that would present your business in a more positive light
  • a valuable and experienced partner in your business success

What will your Virtual Assistant expect from you, the Client?

Some of the things your Virtual Assistant will expect from you include:

  • an equal partner/team-member in our business relationship
  • honesty and integrity in all dealings and communications
  • trust – that I will meet your needs as communicated up front!
  • complete and clear instructions and directions
  • provision of all content required to complete the project
  • clear and readable material
  • ensuring that information provided is accurate, truthful and complete
  • reasonable timelines
  • willingness of the Client to delegate and not micromanage
  • understanding that the Client is responsible for final proofreading of all work
  • the recognition that the Virtual Assistant is a business person and not an employee
  • respect of the Virtual Assistant’s business hours
  • good communication skills
  • understanding that the Virtual Assistant’s time is valuable and those phone calls, even "just to chat" may incur charges
  • being paid on time; just as the Client expects the work completed by a certain time, the Virtual Assistant also appreciates prompt payment for the work completed.

I'm always looking for "My Ideal Client!"
